Yoga with Sara

Sara teaches Hatha Yoga -  focusing primarily on strength, flexibility, and balance. Sara has been teaching Yoga for over ten years and has taught a variety of class types and levels. She lived in New York for seven years where she taught her own blend of Power Yoga at Synergy Fitness. She recently returned to her home town - Montgomery, AL with her husband to raise their young daughter.

Sara has also taught Aerobics and was a Personal Trainer for a number of years. She credits her muscle and tissue knowledge and sensitivity to those years of experience and encourages patience in practice to gently eliminate the natural limitations of the body.   

Yoga with Sara is sensitive to the religious freedoms and ideals of all clients and maintains that unless specifically requested, all sessions focus on yoga strictly as a means of exercise and not as a theological or fundamentally spiritual practice.

 

Sara offers a variety of practices

  • Private Hatha Yoga
  • Vinyasa (Flow Yoga) - A yoga class for the more advanced yoga practitioner, it requires a general knowledge of the yoga positions as it moves at a pace that does not allow for detailed coaching.
  • Two Person Session - try yoga with a friend or loved one. A special session allowing the participants the opportunity to help one another reach wellness goals and master poses!
  • Meditation and Pranayama (The science of breathing) - In order to heighten a goal of acheiving self awareness and control over anxiety, stress, and tension, Yoga with Sara offers one hour private meditation and Pranyama classes. The classes focus on the science of breathing and breath control while exploring the art of meditation. Sessions are held in the yoga studio with low over head light and scented tea candles.
  • Power Stretch - A flexibility session focused on stretching alone without the strength and balance components.
  • Yoga for Golf - A session aimed at improving your swing! Focus is on hamstrings, shoulders, and lower back.
  • Mommy and Me (offered for children 6 and up)  - A fun way to introduce fitness and improve concentration!

 

All classes are custom designed to achieve the personal goals of each client. The first session includes a non invasive evaluation to assess the fitness level of each client and determine the frequency and intensity of class. Each session builds upon the session before to optimize enjoyment and maximize results.

All classes are offered primarily during the morning hours. Sessions can be scheduled from 5AM until 1PM weekdays. There are also varying evening and weekend hours available. All sessions last one hour.
